Dynamic Green Ocean Laboratory

The Dynamic Green Ocean Laboratory grew out of a recognition that not all of the data that we need to parameterise and evaluate the plankton functional types (PFTs) in the PlankTOM model are available in the literature. The laboratory was therefore started to fill those gaps. The lab is housed in the marine trace gas biology laboratory at UEA. Since the latter has a longstanding expertise in algal physiology, the initial projects in the DGOL focused on phytoplankton, but thanks to a collaboration with Carol Robinson, there is now also research being undertaken on zooplankton.
